TEA Pupils Win 3 Awards at KSAA Model United Nations

Posted: November 29th, 2010

Pupils from our 6th Form took part in the KSAA MUN Conference that took place on 25th to 27th November. Pupils took on the challenge of representing a country in Commissions ranging from the Environment to the Security Council as a mock set up to the real United Nations.  The pupils took part in debates and composed resolutions to help solve many of the world’s problems.

The weekend required a large amount of commitment from the pupils but what they got out of it made it worth the sacrifice.  Seven pupils from TEA took Part:

Khalifa Al Hojailan Y12
Amneh Tarkhan Y13
Majid Helmy Y13
Shayma Shamo Y12
Faisal Al Fuhaid Y12
Saad Al Shanfari Y12
Jassem Al Ameri Y12

Roughly 350 students took part from schools all over Kuwait and three of our pupils won an award for their contribution:

Faisal for Most Outstanding Delegate in the Environment Commission
Amneh for Most Outstanding Delegate in the Security Council Commission
Jassem for Best Delegate in the ECOSOC Commission (His third award in 3 conferences)

Thank you to all staff and pupils who worked extremely hard to make the weekend a success.
