Nutrition

Sixth form students all take part in a Nutrition course to increase their confidence and basic skills in the kitchen, preparing them for
independent living at university. The course itself is flexible and is influenced by the dishes the students would like to make. Students
will develop skills involves frying, baking, grilling, meat preparation as well as knife skills and garnishing.

Here are some examples of what they learnt to cook this year: chicken fajita, beef stroganoff, chicken shawarma, macaroni cheese, lasagne, salmon teriyaki, chicken curry , quiche, garlic bread, pizza, brownies, pineapple upside down cake, apple crumble and pancakes. Once students have made their dishes, they are able to take them home.
