To commemorate the event of the Royal Wedding for HRH Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey, London on April 29th, the British Embassy in Kuwait in association with the British Council organised a painting competition. Many children from many schools in Kuwait entered the competition.
We are very proud to announce that the top 3 winners were all pupils from TEA, for the 9-11 years age group – Well Done! We would also like to congratulate all of the pupils that submitted paintings for this event.

During this month (March) we have seen 3 children in Key Stage 1 achieve 100 house-points.

Faisal Esbita (2R), Laila Abdel Motaleb (2R), Tarek Al Bakri (1G)
House-points are awarded to children who demonstrate behaviour above the high expectations that we already set for our pupils at The English Academy. Pupils can be awarded house-points for producing excellent work, showing a caring attitude towards other pupils or for demonstrating consistently high standards of behaviour.
Therefore, it is not easy to achieve a high number of house-points during the year, nevermind 100!
These 3 children have demonstrated excellent behaviour and high levels of commitment to their learning throughout the year and as a result have received this recognition of such an amazing achievement.
Congratulations to Tarek Al Bakri in 1G, Faisal Esbita in 2R and Laila Abdel Motaleb in 2R- keep up the outstanding work!

Pupils in years 3-6 entered poster and poetry competitions during Health Week. Their imaginative and beautifully presented work earned them certificates. Well done to all the children who entered competitions during Health Week.

Well Done to Sanaa Khandaqji for receiving an award and participating in the Enironmental Artwork Competition.

One Chance - By Sanaa Khandaqji
My drawing represents all of the drastic changes that are happening to our world. Outside the bulb, fires are caused due to deforestation and global warming. The recycling bin is empty, as there is a lack of recycling in our present world; whilst the normal bin is over-flowing with litter. The bulb is glowing with a bright light, showing a sign to raise awareness of the heating that is occurring. The arrows show how a neutral, warm colour (green), is turning into a red burning colour (red). The ice in the bulb is melting so the penguins will not have a proper home. I showed this by having the penguins hold a sign to beg people not to damage their only home left. The tree shows that drought will occur, due to the increase in temperature; as well as floods because the icecaps are melting at a high speed. Overall, the bulb represents the miniature of the Earth that is not completely damaged, so a chance is given to us for improvement before it is too late. The photo shows that our Earth is suffering harshly even though we cannot hear its cries.
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the pupils that participated in The 6th Kuwait Karate Championship and for winning Gold medals.
Congratulations to all Reception pupils for all of their achievements.
Peter J Murray is one of the UK’s leading children’s authors and will be visiting us at The English Academy Today. He is a very sought after visiting author and is renowned for inspiring children to want to read.

When the Toy Maker goes to bed……the toys come alive.
History comes alive for our pupils at TEA by engaging them in the discovery of the historic, cultural and social experiences of the past. The children and teachers will be dressing up in costumes from the Egyptian, Roman, Greek and Victorian time periods.
Character dress-up day is extremely popular in our school and is a great way of promoting literacy and love of books. Our pupils and teachers had lots of fun dressing themselves as their favourite storybook characters.
Pupils will be participating in numerous educational, fun and healthy activities:
As we enter the final few weeks of the summer term, thoughts turn to exams…
We’d like to wish our IGCSE and A-Level students the best the luck in their external exams, and all of our other students the same in their end-of-year exams.
Work hard, do your very best, and make us all proud!
